Three Easy Syrups

Easy Grenadine

  • 14 oz pomegranate juice
  • 7 oz water
  • 7 oz sugar
  • 1 oz 80 proof clear rum or vodka
  • Combine sugar and water on the stovetop just until sugar is melted (don’t let it boil). Add juice when it’s cooled and bottle.

Easy Orgeat

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Place in saucepan over low heat until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally
  • Allow to cool slightly then add
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon orange flower water
  • ½ teaspoon rosewater
  • 1 oz 80 proof clear rum or vodka
  • Stir to combine, pour into bottle, keep refrigerated

Ginger Syrup

  • Peel and thinly slice a knob of ginger about 3″ long.
  • Add to a saucepan with 2 cups of water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, cover and allow to sit for several hours or overnight.
  • Strain and add enough water to make two cups.
  • Return to saucepan, add 2 cups sugar and heat on low, stirring until combined (don’t boil).
  • Cool, add 1 oz clear rum or vodka, and bottle your fabulous syrup!
